Week 11: Adobe XD/ Deadline

Although it is the week of the deadline after Monday’s lecture we was told about some software that could bring your app to life called Adobe Experience Design. I thought this would be a nice little extra that I could add to my project and decided to create a document to show how the app would work. I didn’t make the entire app work just a few functions within it to give you a general idea as the deadline was friday and making everything from scratch again is very time consuming. Although the design of the app is a little different (and in a way its the way I wanted it to look as it looks far more professional) it still has the core functions that the app needs. After completing this and adding the URL to my PDF document I decided to submit my final project.

Week 10: Reflection/PDF

After having some time off and also tinkering around with my project here and there I decided to complete it and make no further changes to the animation which I am pleased with. Feeling refreshed I focused on my 400-500 word reflection talking about each different sector and just talking about how the project went in general. This didn’t take very long and so I created a stylised PDF to put the reflection into so it wasn’t just a plain document. Week 11 will be the last week before the deadline so I put everything together this week so I was ready for the deadline and if anything happened I had a week to change what needed to be changed.

Week 9: Finalising

As said last week I was aiming to complete my animation and after putting a few man hours into it I managed to get it to a point where I could just tinker with it if need be. After creating more assets this week and already have the app designed it was a relatively fast process. The video is around 1:40 in length and not only shows off my app and the design of it but explains how it would work whilst showing off different After Effects techniques. I wanted a professional looking video and nothing too fancy as most of the app reveal videos I researched used simple and effect techniques to reveal the product.

Again a few screen shots of my work (of course its hard to show the animation within still shots):

After being happy with my final product I decided that I would have some time off within the 2 week easter break and just tinker and play around with a few small things within my project but nothing too serious and within week 10/11 I would focus on my reflection and PDF for the deadline.

Week 8: Music, SFX and Continued Production

Progress with my video length has been fairly bad this week after getting to around 20 seconds I decided I wanted to try and find copyright free music and SFX’s to compliment my video. After searching the web for some time I managed to come across some music and SFX’s that were of good quality and also fitted within my video nicely. After adding these into my animation I felt my video was really starting to come together and would aim to get the foundations or all of the animation done so I could then just focus on finishing touches.

Week 7: Start of Production

This week I began to create and animate my final video, using the some of the assets I created last week I managed to create around 15 seconds. Starting the project and making it as I go along really gives me the freedom to take the video in whatever direction I would like.

Here are a few screen shots to show my progress:

Having around 15 seconds I could also start to think about what sound effects and music I would like to add in to give the video more depth etc. I will look into copyright free SFX and music to compliment my video.
